Black and White 05/17 - 05/23 (Pere)

Last night whilst watching the Lakers game, Maraea and I noticed that outside we had a bit of a show in the form of an electric storm. We decided to put the tripod up and try some luck...

It took many attempts and a few "Ohhhh almost!"

But we finally caught one!

Black and White 05/17 - 05/23 (Jaime)

I've been taking pictures around the house now that we are in "decorating mode". I liked this one when I turned it into B&W.

Black and White 05/17 - 05/23 (Mel)

I set my camera to black and white this weekend and took several pictures

This is a Chinese doll found in a souvenir store and was my favorite

Fruit 05/10 - 05/16 (Pere)

Ups sorry for the late submission :(

And yes Josh tomatoes are a fruit! Look it up!

Progression in the life of a tomato, since our house has become alive with plants I decided to capture a tomato in four different stages, growing from seed, green, Cherry and plum and in ketchup form

Fruit 05/10 - 05/16 (Mel)

For this week, I visited the fruit shop in front of the office looking for some exotic fruit to photograph but I couldn't really find anything that amazing so here is the pic of the fruit store and people buying fruit

The most interesting thing I found was this fruit-store-cat that likes to sleep in a box of Mangoes.

Fruit 05/10 - 05/16 (Sara)

Did I get the days wrong? I typically don't post first (because of laziness) and copy the title from someone else, but this time no one posted yet.. oh well. I'm sure if it's wrong, Josh will fix it.

Anyway, I didn't really know what I wanted to do with this week's topic, and I didn't want to take a cliche picture of a still-life fruit painting. That being said, I still feel like my photo is a bit uninspired and boring, but whatever. Jeff and I didn't know his countertop was this reflective!

Office 05/03 - 05/09 (Pere)

I was meant to fix the picture but run out of time :-(

So the idea was to get a proper Panoramic of my work area, the idea is there the execution not so much...

Office 05/03 - 05/09 (Sara)

Woo sorry for the late post. It was caused by a combination of laziness and falling asleep early. Anyway, I think the best part about our office is that though there are those anti-social cubes everywhere else, our department has awesome team-friendly cubes. Unfortunately... they ceiling was too low for me to get a good shot of them, so alas, I have taken pictures of other things. I love the open hallways of our department. I'm a little creeped out by the woman in the picture bursting from the white-ness.. but I think I was too lazy to take the shot again (or photoshop her out)

When walking around to other parts of the floor or building, I often lose myself in how confusingly the cubes are set up, but I feel our department is very well laid out, which is something I fear I will miss when we move to our new building. But oh well... though our floor will be set up like every other floor, we get new expensive furniture that has never been used before! And 2 magnetic dry erase boards which I can put my fun hand-me-down icanhascheezburger magnets c/o Grohnklesticks:

Office 05/03 - 05/09 (Josh)

A case of insomnia got me to drive around DC tonight looking for some good pics. I was looking for an old government office building with cool lighting.

However, instead what I found was a new office building with a really modern lobby with great lighting in a little sketchy part of DC around the Greyhound bus terminal that they're trying to revitalize with office buildings and condos, by the New York Ave Metro stop.

Office 05/03 - 05/09 (Jaime)

Considering that I'm going to be busy this weekend I wanted to get my submission in early.
Aside from "Michael Scott", this is what i think off when i hear office...

Can you believe I've had this exact same phone for the last 10 years?

Trees 04/26 - 05/02 (Josh)

Not all trees make it through a harsh winter if they cannot continue to nourish themselves at a slow rate. After this crazy winter in DC, there are quite a few trees around the office that didn't survive that struggle. This picture is in memory of those who didn't make it, and their brothers and sisters who honor them by going on.

Trees 04/26 - 05/02 (Sara)

This past weekend, we went to Jeff's college friend's wedding. These days, the trend seems to be to use branches in your centerpieces, and I kind of like the look! It adds a depth that I think can't be achieved with flowers alone:

It's not a tree by itself, but the branches had to have come from somewhere!

Trees 04/26 - 05/02 (Mel)

Not quite a tree but the laves of a tree.

A red tree in spring.. I dont know anything about trees but I was surprised by the fact that it was not green like the rest of the trees.

Trees 04/26 - 05/02 (Pere)

Very depressing this morning with the dark clouds and all wet from the rains the night before... the trees outside the window

Trees 04/26 - 05/02 (Jaime)

Being homeless this past weekend, we stayed with some friends out in Hamilton, VA (near WV). There were plenty of trees around, and i picked the following two to showcase:

The last one is on top of a hill, so it looks pretty cool, and kind of creepy in the winter when it has no leaves.
